Back in Costa Rica

What am I doing here?

-17 °C

Hola!

I'm a Norwegian anthropology student living in San José, Costa Rica. I arrived the 5th of June, after a loooong trip of 38 hours (because of some technical problems on a Scandinavian Airlines aircraft, they had to rebook my whole trip, and thanks to them I had to wait for a long time in Stockholm and London, and sleep on the floor at JFK airport in New York).

This is not my first time in this awesome country. First time was in 2000 - I lived in Coronado, San José as an exchangestudent for 1 year. In 2002 I returned and stayed here for 3 months. And if that wasn't enough; last year I lived in the indigenous reservation of Talamanca for 5 months where I did fieldwork for my masterthesis. I wasn't planning to return this year at all, but I got an opportunity and took it! I will stay here for about 5 months. In total I have lived in Costa Rica for almost 2 years, so yes, you guessed right; I'm totally in love in this country!!!

Now I live in San Pedro, San José, with two dutch girls in a nice house. I live close to the university, cinema, shoppingcenters, nightlife, and the gym (yes, I have started to work out!). It's great to live here!

I won't be travelling as a backpacker, I use San José as a base, and when I get tired of writing on my masterthesis I pack my bag and travel somewhere. I think I have already been to most places, but I never get tired of travelling around in this country. I also go alot to Talamanca to visit my indian friends, and do some more research.

I will add some pictures of my trip to America last year. Besides Costa Rica, I went to Panama, Ecuador, Peru and USA.

Pura Vida!
